Avaya Recognises Westcon Convergence as EMEA Distributor of the Year

Burgess Hill, UK, November 27, 2007 - Westcon Group, Inc., the leading specialty distributor in networking, convergence, security and mobility, announced that its Westcon Convergence business has won Avaya’s EMEA Distributor of the Year Award. Avaya is a global leader in business communications applications, systems and services. The award was accepted by Simon Minett, chief operating officer of Westcon Group Europe and Middle East at a reception held in Paris earlier this month.  

The Avaya EMEA Distributor of the Year award was presented to U.K.-based Crane Telecommunications for the last three consecutive years. Earlier this year, Crane was acquired by Westcon Group, which launched the specialised business unit Westcon Convergence back in July 2007. Tim Brooks, Westcon Convergence Sales and Marketing Director, was also awarded for “Upholding Avaya Values.”
