Westcon Group Adds New Features to its Solutions Programs, Helping Resellers Generate Profit and Build Long-Term SuccessTarrytown, NY, December 3, 2007 - Westcon Group, Inc., the leading specialty distributor in networking, convergence, security and mobility, announced that its multi-national solutions program websites have been significantly enhanced to include features such as social media support, single sign-on to program tools and enhanced eCommerce access. Westcon’s solutions programs, which include OneDefense, OneVoice, OneNetwork, ConvergencePoint and SecurityPoint, boast several thousand active registrants and experience over 7,000 page views per day. The first of the programs were launched in late 2005, and have since served as a key touch point for Westcon Group’s community of technologically-focused reseller customers. The programs are a fundamental reason Westcon has picked up major industry awards including “Distributor of the Year” from companies like Cisco and Avaya as well as accolades from well-respected media organizations around the world. Some of the enhancements that have been made to the programs include ‘single sign-on.’ This feature enables customers to navigate seamlessly through any of Westcon Group’s solution programs once signed on within any one program. Also, the new program infrastructure makes it easier to find and purchase solutions, while integrating social media capabilities that support blogging, message boards, wikis and other collaborative tools. “Since the launch of our programs, we have made it substantially easier for resellers to do business with us as an organization while providing them with all the tools they need to succeed,” said Duncan Potter, chief marketing officer of Westcon Group. “The adoption and continued evolution of our tools and program infrastructure tell us that our approach is resonating with customers and vendors–and most importantly, helping them identify and seize new opportunities.” Steve Hale, vice president of North America Partner Organization at F5 Networks, added, “Westcon Group continues to demonstrate excellence in execution when it comes to supporting resellers. When you look at the content of their programs—such as intuitive solution building capabilities, sales tools and training opportunities—it is clear that they are an outstanding go-to resource for advanced technology resellers that want to succeed.” Al Siders, president and CEO of Rolling Meadows, IL-based Network Data Systems, said, “We are excited Westcon Group is bringing a new level of functionality to their already powerful solutions sites. Our experience with these programs has been extremely positive and they have measurably increased our success. This is due in no small part to the ease of interaction and intelligence these programs bring to bear.”
