Westcon Group Introduces the First Global “Avaya Solutions Handbook”

Tarrytown, NY, May 27, 2009 - Westcon Group, Inc., the leading specialty distributor in networking, convergence, security and mobility, announced that it has begun shipping the first global “Avaya Solutions Handbook”.  The Handbook, which is available as a comprehensive 268-page desk reference guide and as an ebook, is designed to help Westcon’s Avaya-oriented customers build and grow their businesses. It is the only one of its kind, and was produced with the full cooperation of Avaya.

The Avaya Solutions Handbook, which is being distributed internationally to customers participating in Westcon’s ConvergencePoint program, contains detailed product and positioning information on Avaya’s product lines, as well as a host of complementary solutions. It also contains an extensive assessment of the voice/convergence market, conducted by research firm Current Analysis.

Westcon customers can obtain a complete copy by registering with the Avaya-focused ConvergencePoint program at http://convergencepoint.westcon.com.

“As convergence technologies continue to rapidly evolve—especially in areas like unified communications—so do the correlating opportunities,” said Duncan Potter, chief marketing officer of Westcon Group. “Our global Avaya Solutions Handbook was produced so our customers can stay ahead of these technologies and help end-users solve some of the enormous business challenges they face today. If you are a reseller and you require Avaya solutions, this is the definitive resource you must have.”

The Handbook contains specific sections for partners to learn more about Avaya’s DevConnect program, as well as its unified communications, contact center solutions and small and medium enterprise communications solutions. It also contains a detailed overview of Westcon’s ConvergencePoint solutions program.

Jeremy Butt, Vice President - Worldwide Channels, Avaya, commented: “Westcon’s new Handbook is the result of an extraordinary effort between Westcon and Avaya to the benefit of our mutual customers. BusinessPartners can access market analysis, positioning information and detailed product specifications for products around the world as well as learn about the valuable resources contained inside Westcon’s ConvergencePoint program.”

Susan Kolsby, President of New Jersey-based e.comm Technologies, added: “This book helps us put Avaya solutions in a more strategic context, so we can offer our customers the products that make sense. We have come to expect a very high level of competitive support from Westcon, and the Avaya Solutions Handbook is no exception.”
